Changhee Kim is a Licensed Customs Consultant in Lee & Ko's Customs Practice Group. Mr. Kim has extensive experience in the areas of export and import customs clearance, and is well equipped to provide clients with expert advice and support for various customs issues and administrative matters, including, among others, customs audits, FTA and tariff classifications relating to electronic and automotive components, machinery, chemical products and medical devices, etc. Mr. Kim's educational background in electronic engineering also enables him to provide clients with highly effective expert advice on tariff classifications concerning engineering/technology-related goods (especially, electronic and chemical goods). Prior to joining Lee & Ko, Mr. Kim worked on export and import clearance matters for the Hanjoo, Booil and Unione customs brokerage firms. Through his work at these three firms, Mr. Kim acquired a wide range of practical experience in dealing with all aspects of customs clearance tasks and issues, including labeling requirements for goods under domestic laws and regulations, FTA rules on various matters, such as certification of origin requirements, origin management, verifications, etc. He also acquired extensive experience with regard to quality and safety standards compliance in relation to a broad range of goods and products, and developed special expertise in relation to standards mandated for electronic, chemical, medical and food products, etc. under various applicable laws, such as the Electrical Appliances and Consumer Products Safety Control Act, the Radio Waves Act, the Chemicals Control Act, the Act on the Registration and Evaluation, etc, of Chemical Substances, the Pharmaceutical Affairs Act, the Medical Devices Act, the Special Act on the Safety of Products for Children and the Special Act on Imported Food Safety Management, etc. Mr. Kim also developed special expertise in relation to Restrictions, etc. on Exportation and Importation of Strategic Items and Marking of Origin of Exported or Imported Goods. Mr. Kim excels at providing expert analysis and support for clients in connection with defending against customs audits and investigations, as well as in relation to resolving various types of customs-related disputes.
