As of May 1st 2015, Dr. Rim, who served as the Minister of Health & Welfare, has returned to Lee & Ko as a Senior Advisor. Dr. Rim briefly worked at Lee & Ko in an advisory capacity in 2010 in between administrative postings.

Having served for 33 years in the Korean government, Dr. Rim is particularly highly respected and distinguished as a public administrator in the area of technology policy and regulatory matters. During much of his governmental career, he has especially focused on formulating policies for enhancing industrial competitiveness, fostering innovation and promoting international trade. Based on his long experience in these areas, he was appointed as Vice Minister of Ministry of Knowledge Economy (now known as Ministry of Trade, Industry & Energy (MOTIE)) in 2008. After more than two years' work as Vice Minister, he was then promoted to serve as Minister of the Prime Minister's Office, where he was responsible for coordinating and resolving diverse policy issues and conflicts at many levels.

In 2011, he became Minister of Health & Welfare and was responsible for growing Korea's healthcare and life science industry into a global top 10 player. As a policy architect, he has been widely credited for handling the aftermath of the nation's economic crises.

Dr. Rim also is well-known internationally, especially in Washington DC, particularly in connection with his experience serving as a trade negotiator.

Dr. Rim earned his Ph.D. degree in Economics from Kyunghee University and an M.A. in International Public Policy from Johns Hopkins University's School of Advances International Studies (SAIS).
