Lee & Ko Holds Seminar on “Recent Issues and Trends in IP Disputes in Japan”

LEE & KO hosted a seminar for clients, in cooperation with the Abe, Ikubo & Katayama law firm on the topic of “Recent issues and Trends in IP Disputes in Japan.” The seminar was held on July 7 in Lee & Ko’s Academia Conference room.

Around fifty company representatives attended the seminar and intellectual property experts from Abe, Ikubo & Katayama, recognized as top intellectual property lawyers in Japan, gave various informative presentations on practical legal concerns regarding IP disputes arising between Korean and Japanese enterprises. Several important issues and subtopics were addressed concerning intellectual property disputes, including an overview of patent law in Japan, a discussion of recent amendments to the Prevention of Unfair Competition Act, an analysis of trends with regard to standards adopted for adjudicating patentability, and recommendations for effective defensive strategies in patent infringement litigation as well as in relation to general IP litigation procedures in Japan.
